Jackie is the founder of a fantastic blog called Seek-A-Rita that focuses on “One’s Quest to Find the Perfect Marg”. It’s a fun, down to earth look at different Margaritas, recipes, reviews, tips and all the boozy best tequilas! Now read along as we get to know Jackie a little better!

Question 1: Where did you grow up and what was it like living there?

I grew up in The Plains, Virginia, right in Fauquier County. It was a small town, but not a quiet one. We lived one block from a railroad crossing and right down the street was The Plains Volunteer Fire Department. My son would love it there, there were train horns and fire truck sirens all day long.. It really was a great little town. Not one stop light, just one little gas station and a million childhood memories.

Question 2:What was your favorite school subject or activity in your teen years?

My favorite subject in high school was Spanish. Not even joking. I even had thoughts of traveling around the world as a Translator. I had such a great Spanish teacher, Mr. Aversa. Now, many years later, I do pretty well reading Spanish but speaking the language is pretty difficult for me… Yo amo las margaritas…???

Question 3: What were you like as a teenager?

Can I say my love for Margaritas may have started in my late teens…? Sorry Mom…

Question 4: What was your first job and what did you do there?

I worked as a receptionist at Gilmore’s Auto Service. I started when I was 15 years old and continued to work there until I graduated high school. That job was unbelievably boring and thankfully it was my last “desk” job.

Question 5: What was your worst job and why?

I worked as a Dental Assistant before graduating as an RDH and one of my first jobs assisting was at a Periodontist office. On the second or third day after I started, the Doctor was in the middle of performing a root canal on a patient. She suddenly became frustrated and threw a instrument at the other assistant. Soooo, after seeing bloody, sharp instruments thrown at someones face, I told them I was not a good fit for that office.

Question 6: What life event made you decide to start your own business?

Having children. Don’t all kids make their parents want to drink???!!!
In all seriousness, I came up with the idea of Seek-a-Rita while I was pregnant. I craved Margaritas all the time, even at 9 AM, it was a little strange. But I thought it would be pretty cool to start some type of website or blog all about Margaritas.

Question 7: Tell us what your business is, what it does, etc.?

In a nutshell, I drink Margaritas all day!!! Ok maybe not all day, but sometimes I don’t wait until 5 O’clock…
My goal is to find the greatest Margarita, meanwhile I post Margarita recipes, I research and write about different types of tequila, I also have done a few restaurant reviews. Honestly, I am just having fun and love everything about Margaritas.

Question 8: Why do you love your brand?

Well, who doesn’t love drinking Margs? I also love bringing friends together for a few drinks and great conversations. Not sure if I’m improving other people’s lives, but doing tequila tastings helps them have a hell of a lot of fun!

Question 9: What song or band are you obsessed with right now?

Super obsessed with “Don’t Stay” by X Ambassadors. I repeat it 3 or 4 times every time I listen to it.

Question 10: What show are you binge watching right now?

Right now it’s “Letterkenny” on Hulu. It’s a Canadian TV sitcom that’s flippin hilarious. I can’t get enough of the wordplay and puns – “Pitter patter, let’s skiddatter”.

Question 11: Pizza or Tacos?

Tacos til death do us part.

Question 12: Saturdays or Sundays?

Saturday 100%. Sundays are great for hangovers when you’ve had one too many Margaritas…

Question 13: Summer or winter?

SUMMER! The perfect season for Margarita sippin.

Question 14: Netflix or hulu?

I’m feeling the Hulu. We just switched from SlingTV to Hulu Live and I’m loving it so much more. Netflix is great, but I end up spending too much time watching the trailers and previews more than any actual show.

Mr. Fish

It was a smelly, hot, summer day in South Philadelphia, I was a wide eyed child at the age of 21. I was visiting some old friends for the weekend and was exploring the city a bit. I went into a clothing store to cool off after an amusing stretch of bar hops ordering a “lager”. That’s when I saw
