Metro Nova Creative is dedicated to donating a portion of our proceeds for the year of 2021 to different organizations in our community in three-month brackets. From April to June, we’re delighted to announce that we’ll be donating to the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts (FCCA)! In addition to that, we want to tell you more about this incredible organization. Perhaps, you too, might discover a way to be involved.
Who are the FCCA?
“From the earliest days of the FCCA and its origin as the Fredericksburg Gallery of Modern Art in 1963, members and volunteers have collected valuable memorabilia and artifacts memorializing the history and growth of the organization.”
What do they do?
In addition to preserving historical art and artifacts, they also have a Hallmark Art Outreach Program for under-served community students and seniors. It is held at Hazel Hills and Heritage Park at no cost, and is held year round! It’s mostly funded through grants and donations. They are currently dropping off kits for the class but they hope to have it “in person” again very soon! Read more about it Here.
Also, here is the schedule for both galleries:
How can you help?
They are always looking for volunteers, members, and chairpeople for the Board. For Volunteer opportunities reach out to Matt Williams FCCA President. If you were to find yourself interested in being a member, here is the member application. Some of the perks include (but are not limited to) being able to submit to the member gallery and getting discounts.
If you want to be involved in a grander capacity, there are several board positions available!
- Building and Grounds Chair
- Grants and Fundraising Chair
- Curator Elect Chair
Being a creative company, we are committed to supporting the Arts! If you want to support it too, you can either pay for a membership Here, or even easier, hire us between the months of April-June!
