Happy Women’s History Month to you! With International Women’s Day just behind us, the importance of women is fresh in our minds (as it should be). To celebrate women this month, Girls in Tech launched campaign #leaveyourmark, a movement meant to celebrate women in the workforce. Throughout the month, Girls in Tech will be highlighting working women all across the globe and raising money for their Global Classroom, a free online program that teaches design and coding to girls and women.
Why get involved?
If helping Girls in Tech educate females on coding and design isn’t enough, this campaign is meant to bring awareness to a variety of women’s issues. Problems such as equal pay, sexual harassment, maternity and family policies, funding for women founders, representation on corporate boards, and more continue to thrive in the workplace. International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month has certainly highlighted that women have been at the forefront of STEM for years, but it isn’t enough. Girls in Tech aim to continue to fight for women’s recognition in the workforce “until a woman’s name is synonymous with Steve Job’s”.
How do I get involved?
