Does Branding Matter?
Yes, yes it does… Let’s chat about brand trust.
Here’s a simple test, if you had to hire a plumber and you did a Google search because you didn’t have any personal referrals. If two plumbers in your area popped up and you had to pick, which would you choose.
Joe’s House of Pipe – Has a Facebook page but no posts in the last three months, doesn’t have a website, 8 average reviews.
Marshall’s Plumbing – Has a website that ranks on the first page, has a Facebook page with consistent content posted including community programs that help your neighborhood, has a large number of positive reviews.
Both of these are small businesses with only a few employees – both of them have the same amount of experience – you’ve not seen either of the logos/identity work. But because of the amount of work Marshall’s Plumbing has put into creating a brand that appears trustworthy and cares about their community, you’ve probably chosen them to fix your toilet swamp problem!
So again, remember that in today’s market branding is much more than its original use, which was literally to brand livestock in Japan to mark a particular farm’s ownership. It’s not just a mark: it’s content, it’s trust, it’s visual identity, it’s community, and it’s what we do for each of our clients at Metro Nova Creative. That’s how I see it anyways.
